Assessment at the depth your students deserve.

XAM reads your module materials, lecture notes, textbook chapters, academic papers, and generates questions calibrated to the exact cognitive level you specify. Bloom’s levels 1 to 6, multiple exam versions from one set, LaTeX end to end, and your institution’s branding on every paper.

The challenge

Universities assess at a different level. Most tools don't.

Writing questions at Evaluate and Create takes expertise and time. Producing multiple versions, handling large cohorts, meeting formatting standards and protecting integrity, none of it gets simpler by adding a generic AI tool.

Without XAM
  • Writing Evaluate and Create questions takes hours of expert time per module.
  • Large cohorts need Version A, Version B and a resit, each produced by hand.
  • Reusing questions across sittings puts academic integrity at risk.
  • Dense research PDFs and journal articles defeat most tools.
  • Every academic rebuilds their question set from scratch each semester.
With XAM
  • Pick a Bloom's level and XAM writes Evaluate and Create questions from your own materials.
  • Shuffle and versioning produce structurally distinct versions and resits in seconds.
  • Every version differs in order and options, so reuse stops being an integrity risk.
  • Upload academic PDFs, journal articles and dense research; XAM works with all of it.
  • Approved questions accumulate in one shared departmental bank that grows each term.
  • Evaluate and Create on demand
  • Distinct versions
  • Integrity built in
Cognitive level

Six levels. Genuinely different questions at each one.

Bloom's level selection isn't a label. It changes the structural type of question XAM generates. Here is the same source, an economics module on monetary policy, at all six levels. Academics can mix levels in one run.

LevelCognitive demandExample question XAM generates
RememberWhat is the definition of opportunity cost?
UnderstandExplain how inflation affects purchasing power.
ApplyUsing the data provided, calculate the price elasticity of demand.
AnalyseIdentify the key structural differences between the two economic models in the passage.
EvaluateTo what extent does the evidence support the claim that monetary policy is more effective than fiscal policy?
CreatePropose an original policy framework to address the market failure described, and justify your approach.

The complexity score gives a 0 to 100% cognitive-demand readout for the whole set before it goes to students, a quick, objective check that the assessment matches your learning outcomes.

Built for academic assessment

What XAM does for universities.

The capabilities that matter when the assessment has to stand up to scrutiny.

The source materials academics use

Dense academic PDFs, journal articles, textbook chapters and lecture slides. XAM works with citation-heavy documents simpler tools can't process.

PDF, DOCX, TXT · LaTeX preserved

Multiple versions from one set

Version A, Version B, or as many as your sittings need, from the same bank via shuffle and versioning. Every version is structurally distinct.

Removes the reuse integrity risk

LaTeX and MathJax, end to end

XAM preserves formulas from the source PDF, renders them live in the editor, and exports them typeset-ready in the final paper.

A departmental question bank

Every academic's approved questions accumulate into one shared, searchable bank that grows stronger across semesters, modules and cohorts.

Filter by module, level, difficulty, date

Formatting to your exact standard

Margins, typography, header style, citation format, section layout, answer keys. Save your institutional format as a preset and reuse it.

Complexity scoring

Every set gets a 0 to 100% cognitive-demand readout, mapped to Bloom's and updating live, so you can check it matches your learning outcomes.

Before a single student sees it

Reviewing, not writing from scratch

The Sunday afternoon you get back.

Writing questions at the level a degree demands used to swallow whole afternoons. XAM drafts them from your own materials in minutes, and your expertise goes where it counts: reviewing, refining, and deciding what reaches your students.

Adoption starts with one academic

Most institutions start with a single lecturer.

An academic evaluates XAM free on their own module, likes what it produces, and the department follows. When you're ready for a shared account, we bring their questions across and set up the departmental bank.

From academics

What academics say once it's in place.

  • I used to lose a Sunday afternoon to the end-of-term paper. I uploaded my notes on Monday morning and had it ready before first period.

  • Across the department, the papers finally look like they came from the same place. Same standard, same answer key, every time.
[Department head name]Head of Science, [Institution]
  • The Arabic came out clean from a scanned PDF that every other tool mangled. That alone saved me an evening of retyping.
    [Teacher name]Arabic teacher, [School]
  • I set the difficulty, skimmed the questions, changed two, and sent it. It felt like having a teaching assistant who never gets tired.
    [Teacher name]Maths teacher, [School]
  • Being able to share a link and have the marking done for me changed how I run weekly quizzes. I get the class time back.
    [Tutor name]Private tutor, [City]
  • Onboarding the whole team took an afternoon, not a term. Everyone works from the same question bank now.

FAQs

Answers for the people who evaluate these things.

  • Yes, and it is what XAM was built to do. The Bloom's level is a structural input to generation, not a label added afterwards. Selecting Evaluate produces questions that ask students to make and justify judgments; Create asks for synthesis and original construction. The 0 to 100% complexity score gives you a measurable readout before any student sees the paper. Best evaluated on your own module document.

  • Yes, and it is how most university adoptions begin. Any academic can start on the Free plan, 150 credits a month, no card, no IT involvement, which is enough to run the full workflow on real module materials. When the department is ready for a shared account, we migrate their questions across and set up the departmental bank.
