Validity
Validity is whether an assessment actually measures what it claims to. A reading test that a student can pass on background knowledge alone is not a valid reading test.
Validity is a property of the conclusions you draw from a result, not just the paper itself. It asks: does a high score really mean the student has the skill or knowledge the test is supposed to check?
Common threats include questions answerable without the material, tasks that test reading when they mean to test science, and vocabulary that gates an answer it was not meant to. Removing those raises validity.
